YWAM Denver Leadership

YWAM Denver is always always active and alive! Our one-hundred full-time staff are involved in discipleship, mobile teams, international outreaches, worship teams and a host of other activities. Life here is never dull!

elders YWAM Denver operates under team-leadership principles. Peter Warren, the director, and his wife, Linda, are a part of a leadership team which governs the corporate direction of the base. On a day to day basis, our leadership team works hard to keep everything running smoothly!

John & Michelle Connor: John & Michelle Connor met at YWAM Denver during completion of three schools at YWAM Denver, in 1996 & 1997. John joined staff in 1997, Michelle joined staff in 1998, and they were married in the summer of 1998. They have three daughters, Jocelyn, Jubilee, and Jessa. John has been an elder here since 2001 and Michelle has been an elder since 2008.  John helped develop the Boarders DTS, and developed Denver's School of Worship. He has led ten schools, seven outreaches and continues to lead the School of Worship here at YWAM Denver. John & Michelle have a passion and desire to see God move in the hearts of people through the instrument of music. John leads worship & teaches internationally. He is also the worship pastor at Faith Bible Chapel's "Fuel" Venue.

Mark Davies: Mark comes to us from New Hampshire. He did a DTS in the winter of 2002 and joined staff directly after his Phase 2 in the fall of 2002. Maritza is from Colombia, South America. She completed her DTS in Minneapolis in the fall of 2000 as well as an SOE in the spring of 2001. She came to Denver for an SOW in the summer of 2004 followed by a Phase 2 in the fall of 2004. She joined staff in January of 2005. They met here at YWAM Denver, were married in 2007 and now have two twin sons; Seth and Samuel ('08).

kingsley Peter Kingsley: Peter came to us from England and began his YWAM school career with a DTS in the spring of 2001. He followed it with a SOW in the summer of 2001, a WISE school in the winter of 2002, and a Phase II in the spring of 2002. He joined the Mission Adventures team for the summer of 2002, joined staff in the fall of 2002 and became an elder in 2008. Peter and Kristi were married Fall of 2008. Kristi, from Evansville, Indiana, did a DTS Fall of 2008 and is currently completing the spring 2009 Phase II.

Jacob Green: Jacob is from Morgan Hill, California . He did his DTS in the fall of 2002 at Eagle Rock followed by Phase II in the spring of 2003. He joined the Mission Adventures team in the summer of 2003 and came on staff in the fall of 2003. He became on elder in 2009.

Jeremy Lange: Jeremy is from Sonora, California and did his DTS in the summer of '99. He returned to Denver in the spring of 2000 to complete a Phase II. He came on staff in the fall of 2000. JJeremy and Keeley were married in February 2004 . Keeley did her DTS in the fall of 2002 and Phase II in the fall of 2003. She joined staff in January of 2004. Jeremy has been an elder since 2008. They now have two beautiful daughters, Reegan ('04) and Keeana ('07) and one son, Jereson ('09).

Mark & Donna MacGowan Mark & Donna MacGowan: Mark & Donna have been married since 1981. Before coming to Denver in 1991, they lived in Fairfax, Virgina. There Mark discipled teens as a youth minister and Donna taught gifted and talented students in the public school system. God has used Mark's Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Religion, and Donna's Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education to prepare them for each step of His plan for them. Mark likes to play Frisbee Golf and regular golf, go hiking, and going out to dinner with friends. He loves leading DTS's and serving wherever else he can in the world of YWAM for the Denver base. Currently, Mark leads DTS's, he's the Manager of Eagle Rock Campus, and does special projects for YWAM Denver. Together, Mark and Donna have led three outreaches, and 21 DTS schools!

John & Bethany Murphy: John is from California and Bethany is from Wyoming. Bethany did her DTS in the winter of 1998 and her Phase II in fall of 1998. John did his DTS in the fall of 1998 and his Phase II fall of 1999. They were married on November 4, 2000, and came on staff in March of 2002. John has been an elder since 2006 and Bethany has been an elder since 2008. They have a son, Isaac, and two beautiful girls, Jada and Emily. John and Bethany are elders here at YWAM Denver, and they also lead the Boarders DTS, which they helped develop, and also direct DTS's. They have led five outreaches together, and have a passion for discipleship, and for seeing others utilize their passions for the kingdom of God. Bethany enjoys midwifery, and together, the Murphys enjoy extreme sports and the outdoors, especially camping in the mountains and fishing.

Jonah Pyhala: Jonah comes to us from New Hampshire and Merel comes from Holland, Utrecht. Jonah did a DTS in May of 1997 on the Anastasis and joined their staff. He did a School of Worship in the summer of 2001 and a Phase II here in the spring of 2002. Jonah joined our staff in the summer of 2002 and became an elder in 2008. Jonah has worked with six outreaches. Jonah is our Director of Video, working mainly on the Weekly Videocasts. He has a passionate about getting people involved in missions work, and enjoys travelling & exploring different cultures. Merel did her DTS winter of 2008 and her Phase II fall of 2008. She joined staff in December of 2008. Jonah and Merel were Married April 2009.

Cary Snodgrass: Cary grew up in West Virginia. He attended California University of Pennsylvania, and attained a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Management. Cary did his DTS in the Fall of 1994 here at YWAM Denver, then did his Phase 2 one year later in the fall of 1995. Cary joined our staff during January of 1996, and became an elder here at our base during the year 2004. Cary is one of the administrators here at YWAM Denver. Cary enjoys geneaology, and travelling! Cary has been to seventeen countries, has led seven DTS outreaches and has been on two mobile teams.

Ken & Doris Urban: For the twenty years that Doris and Ken have been in YWAM, the key words have to be "adventure" and "relationships!" Ken and Doris have traveled and ministered in over thirty countries, had the opportunity to pioneer a humanitarian aid/church planting work in Kazakhstan, and now have precious relationships with dear friends on every continent except Antarctica. Ken has spent twenty years as a civil engineer in construction, sales and management, thirteen years teaching woodshop, drafting, and the bible, and twenty years with YWAM in training, leading outreaches, and Frontier Missions. Ken and Doris have been married 54 years, and have two kids and four grandkids. They have a real passion for Kazakhstan, Israel, and seeing their children and grandchildren prosper, and they really enjoy going out for a movie and a dinner and spending time with their family. Ken also really enjoys golfing, and Doris is a great seamstress!

Kevin Verrone: Kevin is from Nebraska and Simone is from Brazil. Kevin has a degree in Exercise Physiology and Simone has one in Clinical Psychology. They met in YWAM Denver during their DTS in the Spring 1998 and got married during their Phase II in the Fall of that same year. Together, they have lead 5 outreaches together and a mission adventures road crew. Kevin has also led ten DTSs and one Phase II. He is currently the director of the Communications department and of the Phase II School and she leads small groups and works with discipling the staff. They are also involved with their local church. They have two children: Kaleb ('00) and Bella ('03) .  Kevin and Simone are also expectant parents of an adopted girl who will come from China sometime soon. Kevin loves to play soccer, snowboard, fish and pretty much any outdoor activity. Simone loves the arts, especially music, photography & dance.

Peter & Linda Warren: Peter joined Youth With A Mission in Canberra, Australia in 1977. He and Linda met while both were working at YWAM Los Angeles. They were married in 1979, led Discipleship Training Schools for three years, and directed the ministry during their final year in California. In 1984, Peter and Linda moved to Colorado to pioneer the base in Denver. Peter continues to oversee YWAM Denver on a daily basis, and serves on the ministry's leadership council. He is a regular speaker in YWAM training schools around the world, as well as in local churches, conferences, and seminars. Together, they have led about a dozen outreaches. Peter and Linda live in Denver, Colorado, and have three children: Stephen, Rachel, and Jessica. Peter enjoys golfing, travelling (He hitchhiked around the world when he was 19, and will also visit his 100th country in 2007!), and music. Linda attained a degree in Occupational Therapy from San Diego State University, loves crafts, cooking, and reading, and currently serves on the University of the Nations council, for YWAM International. Together they are very passionate about this generation, the great commission, and helping the poor and needy.

 


trish Trish Webster: Trish, from New Zealand , did her DTS on the Anastasis in 1983. Following her DTS she joined staff with YWAM in Hong Kong until 1991, when she joined staff on the Anastasis through 2000. She did her Phase II in the spring of '01 and joined our staff directly afterwards. Trish joined the eldership here at YWAM Denver during the summer of 2006. Trish is the Director of Personnel, managing just over 100 staff here at YWAM Denver! Trish is passionate about people knowing the truth about themselves, and loves to entertain/cook!
