By
design, this is a hands on practical application school. It has been
designed to help equip individuals with the necessary tools to craft
quality motion pictures of all kinds on little or no budget in small
development teams of 1-4 people.
Throughout the school, we will
be learning and implementing "guerilla film" techniques and putting into practice, designing and creating our own short films.
Preproduction (Script
writing, story telling, storyboarding, job roles)
Digital non-linear editing and compositing (Final
Cut, After Effects, Livetype)
Camera operation (Digital video, movement mechanics,
shots, filters, ets.)
Sound for moving pictures (Use of
microphones, sound effects, and editing)
Lighting techniques
Directing and Acting skills
Post-production (creative editing, story telling in
editing, understanding formats, and technical terms in editing,
copyright laws, use of music, etc.)
Marketing and Distribution
Innovative designing and "Guerilla film"
techniques
Web and video coordination
Projects:
Create a one minute film
Design and creat a 15 minute documentary
Re-create a short scene from a script without knowing
the name of the movie. (demonstrating how different directors will
create a different movie from the same script)
Create a VideoCast for YWAM Denver
Do a formal interview with someone (sharing a testimony,
etc.)
Demonstrate understanding of compositing by creating a
composite introduction
Create on-line video blog

$3,095.00 USD
for the twelve week lecture phase. $200.00 USD for resources/materials
$3,295.00 USD total
This cost includes
tuition, food, and housing. There is an additional cost for books,
personal care and laundry money, extra activities, and personal snacks.
Book fees will be range from $40-$55 dollars. Your tuition is due upon
arrival. Keep in mind that the tuition for the School of Video
Production is not tax-deductible.
