Cailyn Vargas - About My Ministry

I believe that we all have a unique calling on our lives. As an individual following  Jesus and as a person distinctly created with purpose and meaning. I am passionate about watching individuals discover what that calling is. While we are each given clear instructions to "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations..." (Matt. 28:18), it is often difficult to find our individual role. My life was dramatically changed when I began to discover my identity in Christ and begin walking in that truth. I want everyone to have the same freedom. Because of the freedom and identity, I found in Christ, I am able to walk confidently, with dignity and grace, in all situations.”

YWAM is currently the vehicle that God has instructed me to use. I have the privilege of walking alongside other young people in the truth of their identity and live out my personal calling of influencing the world with the Gospel using the internet and social media.

How Can I Partner?

Youth With a Mission is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization, each of its team members is considered a volunteer. This means that I rely on the financial donations of friends and family to remain in full-time ministry.

If you have questions about this please reach out!

I am currently believing in the Lord for an increase in my monthly support in 2019.

I would appreciate you prayerfully considering in partnering with me. My goal is to raise

$1,000 more in monthly support. This will ensure financial security and give me the freedom to invest more time in ministry.

I currently am working about 20-30 extra hours a week at various jobs in order to cover my expenses. Having more financial partners will be such a blessing and a burden lifted.

While daily life is always changing I have two primary roles on our team. I direct the School of Ministry Development (SOMD) each spring, and am the assistant direct the School of Worship (SOW) each Fall.

Each of these schools take months of prayer and preparation.  I am responsible to plan and develop each school mentor to students and the other team members who are also working with a school.

I direct the Communications Department. The Communications Department is a team of 10 people. It is my job to manage and disciple this team. I oversee all of student communications; essentially the process of walking alongside an individual that is interested in missions.

I personally manage all of our social media profiles, keep running, communicate and work with YWAM Global Communications. And manage and petition for our international team member VISAs. We currently have people on our team from 8 nations!

What Do I Do ?

My first missions trip was with World Vision in the Summer 2007. That week,  I saw for the first time how different life can look for other people. I fell in love with that new culture and joy I felt being able to bless them with just my time and willingness to be there.

Since then, I found a passion for discipline and mentoring people around me, living in community and sharing the Gospel around the world.  I began by leading small groups at the church I was raised in, walking with the same students from 7th grade and through high school, I served at countless retreats, camps, and weekly small groups.

After I graduated high school, I attended the Discipleship Training School with YWAM in Wiler, Switzerland. When I returned home, I went to school received a degree in Communications from Colorado Christain University. In August 2015, while leading a small group at a summer camp, I felt called into full-time ministry - knowing that there was a way I could live out everything that I felt called to do. In January 2016, I moved to Denver, Colorado and joined the team at YWAM Denver.

Today, I get to do everything I wanted to do; change the world through Communications and mentor young people daily- I even get to go to camp a few times a year!

Below is some information about Youth With a  Mission (YWAM) and my current life in full-time ministry!

What is YWAM?

Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), we unite in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known.

YWAM international is decentralized and our locations around the world are held together through 18 Core Values.

What About YWAM Denver?

I am currently part of the ministry team at YWAM Denver, located just outside Denver, Colorado.

YWAM Denver was established in 1985 by Peter and Linda Warren. Today they are still directing YWAM Denver and hold many leadership roles across YWAM international.

YWAM Denver is a training location; we run 12 training schools a year designed to equip people in all areas of ministry and give them the opportunity to experience missions in different contexts around the world.
